The Toce Falls: the most beautiful fall of the Alps

A feature of the Formazza Valley are the Toce Falls.

The Toce Falls drop about 143 mt, being the second highest fall in Europe. The falling water generates hydro-electric power and the dam opens only on certain days and hours during the summer season, so that visitors can enjoy a spectacular show.

Nearby it’s situated the well-known Albergo della Cascata, built in 1863, with a splendid view over the Toce Falls and the Valley. From here you can leave for the beautiful lakes of the Formazza Valley, such as the Morasco Lake, the Kastel Lake and the Toggia Lake.
